Delivery, installation, commissioning and acceptance of a SQUID Magnetometer

A new SQUID* magnetometer will be acquired at the HLD at HZDR. This device will be used in order to precisely analyze the magnetic properties of a wide variety of sample classes. This setup shall be equipped with a superconducting NbTi magnet that allows for generating magnetic fields up to 8 Tesla. The system should also be equipped with a variable temperature insert to achieve temperatures at least in the range of 2 K to to 300 K. The system should be compatible with additional optional equipment to extend the temperature range to both higher and lower temperatures, such as a He-3 cooler for extending the temperatures down to 0.5 K or a sample heating option for temperatures above 300 K. This will open up new experimental possibilities for the study of exotic phenomena in a variety of materials (superconductors, semiconductors, magnets, spin liquids, topological insulators, etc.). The system should allow quick sample change.
