81269251-Implementation of Pilot Project along the Plastic Value Chain in Manado

The regional BMZ-financed project ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment and Coral Reefs’ aims to improve the conceptual framework for reducing land-based waste leakage into the sea in selected ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines). The contract covers support to the implementation of pilot projects in Manado, North Sulawesi (one of the pilot projects in Output 4: ‘Implementation experiences on the reduction of waste leakage into the sea are documented for further dissemination’). The pilot projects should create tangible improvements on the local level and provide knowledge to a regional knowledge platform and to the ASEAN working groups. The contractor is responsible for providing the following work packages: 1) Integrated SWM and plastic waste management; 2) Plastic production and consumption patterns and change strategy; 3) Collection and processing of recyclables with informal sector participation; 4) Behaviour change strategy. The contract shall be carried out with a duration of 2 years and 5 months until 31 May 2024.
