Project: technology based adaptation to climate change in rural areas of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan Central Asia is severely affected by the impacts of climate change. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is supporting the countries of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in a regional project to improve their planning capacities for adapting rural population to the effects of this phenomenon. The focus of the project activities is on advising and supporting the governmental partners in geodata management. Working together, the aim is to establish national geodata infrastructures in both countries. Processing of remote sensing data helps close data gaps. Subject of this call for tender is the set-up of a remote sensing laboratory at the partner institution in Tajikistan. After appropriate planning by the contractor, the necessary equipment will be procured by GIZ and put into operation by the contractor. This is followed by a series of consecutive training modules for local operators and the guided processing and evaluation of remote sensing data aiming to produce climate-relevant thematic information.
