81258296 — Strengthening of ICGLR's Mediation Capacities and Initiatives in the Great Lakes Region

The International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) regrouping 12 Member States in the Region, has since its foundation in 2004 been given an important mandate for conflict prevention, management and peaceful settlement of conflicts. It is in this context, and as part of the Regional Project on Peace and Security in the GLR, co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU) that the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are partnering to support the ICGLR to implement its Program of Action on Peace and Security, and in particular to develop a joint gender-responsive mediation approach and strategy.
