81257461-Environmental Component of the Project Sustainability in the Textile and Leather Sector in Bangladesh

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development has commissioned the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to implement the ‘Sustainability in the Textile- and Leather Sector in Bangladesh’. The overall objective of the project is to ‘strengthen public and private sector actors’ capacity to fulfil their mandate and responsibilities to ensure compliance with social and environmental standards in the textile- and leather industry in Bangladesh. In this context, GIZ is seeking to commission a contractor to implement one Output focussing on: 1) strengthening the DoE's enforcement capacity, and 2) supporting the MoEFCC and the DoE in revising/updating their regulatory framework based on the EU's Best Available Technique (BAT) methodology. The contractor is expected to provide international and national/regional experts with relevant professional and regional experience.
