81244187-Strengthening youth for a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence in Mindanao

The German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has commissioned GIZ to implement the project ‘Strengthening Youth for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence in Mindanao’ in the Philippines.The project will be implemented in selected areas of Mindanao and combine different approaches to strengthen capacities for the engagement of youth in peace building. In Output 1, approaches used by formal education institutions for peace education will be strengthened. In Output 2, the accessibility for vulnerable youth, such as indigenous young people, to peace building approaches used by civil society organisations and youth initiatives will be enhanced. Output 3 focuses on strengthening the capacities of state institutions for designing and implementing gender and culturally sensitive, youth-oriented peace building strategies. Moreover, the setting up of actor-specific exchange fora will foster Mindanao-wide learning, knowledge sharing and networking on youth-oriented peace building.
