The action is a Multi-Donor Action (MDA), jointly co-financed by the EU, under the Development Cooperation Instrument (CDI), and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The proposed MDA — ‘Capacities for Nutrition’ (C4N) — will be implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH based on an agreement with the EC. To achieve SDG 2.2, the eradication of all forms of malnutrition by 2030, a balance between actions that are nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive is required. While there have been important achievements with respect to global food availability and nutrition, overall progress to eliminate all forms of malnutrition by 2030 continues to be slow and uneven. Two major commitments have been made: (i) support partner countries in reducing the number of stunted children under the age of 5 by at least 7 000 000 children by 2025; (ii) ensure the allocation of 3 500 000 000 EUR between 2014-2020 to this end.
