Leistungsumfang
Beschreibung laut BekanntmachungAlgerian waste management is still based on the principle of landfilling almost all waste. The recycling rate is very low and the value chains are hardly developed. Only 5 to 7 % of urban waste is recycled, while the recycling rate of plastic waste is no higher than 1 %. Due to public dissatisfaction with waste management, the recycling of waste has become of great political importance. In 2004, the Algerian government introduced a national packaging waste recycling strategy called ECO-JEM. So far, however, the goals have not been achieved for a variety of reasons. In addition, around 4 500 000 used tires are generated each year that pollute the environment.
