Market Investigation — BorWin 6 HVDC Cable System

Announcement of a market investigation on the planned procurement of the ‘BorWin 6 HVDC Cable System’. The awarding authority TenneT TSO GmbH hereby invites all potential and interested market participants to express their interest in the planned market investigation for the ‘BorWin 6 HVDC Cable System’ and to provide an overview of the current status of the planning documents. This market investigation is part of a possible, subsequent procurement project. BorWin6 is the sixth offshore grid connection of TenneT off the coast of Borkum. BorWin6 has a transmission capacity of 930 megawatts and will connect an offshore wind farm in cluster 7, zone 2. The project comprises an HVDC system including one offshore and one onshore converter. The onshore station will be located in Büttel. The commissioning of BorWin6 is planned in 2027.
