## Leistungsumfang

This contract is to support the "modernization of the civil registration and vital statistics program" in Cameroon, more specifically output 2 of this program, concerning the digitalization of the civil registration system. The program is being financed by the German ministry of cooperation and development (BMZ), and realized by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Entwicklung (GIZ). The program started in July 2018 with a first phase of three years, to generally improve the civil registration system in Cameroon. The second phase of the program started in July 2021 and has three outputs: output 1 is about human capacity development, on all levels, output 2 is the digitalization of the civil registration system, and output three is using the civil society organizations to improve especially the position of women in the civil registration system. Output 2, digitalization of the civil registration system, will work together with 20 municipalities to introduce a new digital system for the registration of births and deaths. At the same time the national level will be supported to create a national database for the civil registration data, and produce demographic statistics.
