## Leistungsumfang

The BMZ has commissioned GIZ to implement the 3 years project ‘Improving Basic Education in Malawi’. The aim of the project is to improve the quality of teacher training. The contractor is responsible to improve the use of ICT for teaching and learning in teacher training. The pedagogically guided use of ICT shall support lecturers and student teachers to meet the requirements of the new curriculum which promotes self-directed learning in order to improve learning performance of student teachers. Thus, ICT will contribute to improving the quality of teacher training. The capacity development of the management, lecturers and student teachers at TTCs shall be improved by using ICT-based learning resources. ICT should be integrated into teacher training in a pedagogically meaningful way. In addition, the evaluation and effective use of information and material for teaching and learning will be practiced.
