## Leistungsumfang

The GIZ project “Support to the African Union for the prevention and management of violent conflict and consolidation of peace within the framework of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA)” is implemented with funding from the German Ministry for Development Cooperation and Economic Affairs over a period of three years, from July 2018 to June 2021. The module is part of the GIZ programme for “Cooperation with the African Union in the area of Peace and Security”. The project aims to increase the use — by the African Union (AU) in cooperation with the RECs — of instruments for crisis prevention, conflict management and peace consolidation, in due consideration of gender aspects. This objective will be achieved by strengthening structures and further developing APSA instruments at the level of the AU Commission, combined with accompanying the implementation of APSA Instruments for crisis prevention, conflict management and peace consolidation in selected AU member states, in collaboration with RECs.
