## Leistungsumfang

The Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP) co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Government – Bundesministerium für Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) – and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing (FMPWH) supports inter alia the development of the on-grid Renewable Energy (RE) market in Nigeria. The programme builds upon an initial 4-year phase (2013-2017) during which NESP supported, inter alia, regulatory reforms allowing for the integration of variable RE (vRE), notably solar, into the grid; the development of a structured bidding approach for the competitive procurement of additional on-grid solar capacities; and better grid planning (incl. grid studies and system adequacy reporting) and operations. The programme also supported general policy formulation and sector coordination.
